The initial DAP-R was constructed by Wong, P.T.P., Reker, G.T.,\u00a0and Gesser, G in 1994. It contains 32 questions and is separated in 5 sub levels where the participants are asked to\u00a0answer a seven-level Likert scale (I absolutely agree to I absolutely disagree).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The DAP-R was translated in Greek and a psychometric evaluation of the tool was made. Prior translating and using\u00a0the tools\/questionnaires, permission was guaranteed by the authors. Translation was based on \u201cTrust Scientific\u00a0Advisory Committee\u201d SAC: (double reversed translation) cultural adjustment, validation of the questionnaire. In order\u00a0to validate the questionnaire certain psychometric tests were conducted to estimate the reliability and validity of the\u00a0questionnaire, in addition control of factor analysis was also made.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Results:<\/strong> The factor \u00abapofigi thanatou (\u0391\u03c0\u03bf\u03c6\u03c5\u03b3\u03ae \u03b8\u03b1\u03bd\u03ac\u03c4\u03bf\u03c5)\u00bb overlaps with the aspect \u00abDeath avoidance\u00bb. Moreover,\u00a0the factor \u00abfovos thanatou (\u03a6\u03cc\u03b2\u03bf\u03c2 \u03b8\u03b1\u03bd\u03ac\u03c4\u03bf\u03c5)\u00bb consists of the same questions as the aspect \u00abFear of death\u00bb. The factor\u00a0\u00aboudeteri apodoxi (\u039f\u03c5\u03b4\u03ad\u03c4\u03b5\u03c1\u03b7 \u03b1\u03c0\u03bf\u03b4\u03bf\u03c7\u03ae)\u00bb overlaps with the aspect \u00abNeutral acceptance\u00bb. Questions 4, 8, 13, 16 and\u00a031 based on the above analysis are included in factor \u00abmeso diafigis (\u039c\u03ad\u03c3\u03bf \u03b4\u03b9\u03b1\u03c6\u03c5\u03b3\u03ae\u03c2)\u00bb instead of aspect \u00abApproach<br \/>\nacceptance\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Conclusion:<\/strong> The Greek version of DAP-R is a reliable and valid tool to estimate nurses&#8217; attitude towards death.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Key words:<\/strong> death, nurse, validation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Aim: To translate a questionnaire that evaluates and validates the attitude of nurses\u2019 attitudes towards death.
