{"id":2948,"date":"2015-05-16T15:34:07","date_gmt":"2015-05-16T12:34:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/journal-ene.gr\/?p=2948"},"modified":"2026-11-05T16:12:37","modified_gmt":"2026-11-05T14:12:37","slug":"driving-behaviour-and-road-accidents-as-a-problem-of-public-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/periodiko.yaba.gr\/en\/driving-behaviour-and-road-accidents-as-a-problem-of-public-health\/","title":{"rendered":"Driving behaviour and road accidents as a problem of public health"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Introduction:<\/strong> The present study refers to the large problem of road accidents and their underlying factors.\u00a0Specifically after a brief reference to the information we present the factors that influence the driving\u00a0behaviour as well as behaviour models of healthcare that are used to interpret these factors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Literature Review:<\/strong> The review was based on international databases and the articles selected were from\u00a0the last decade. Following keywords were used for our inquiry: road accidents, behavior models of healthcare,\u00a0public health.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Results:<\/strong> it was found that the perception of risk is a subjective case influenced by biological, psychological,\u00a0social and economic factors. Further, the perception of risk exceeds the individual level and reflects social,\u00a0ideological and cultural values.It is therefore clear that handling the problem and trying to change the\u00a0driving behaviour of individuals in order to minimize road accidents cannot be of general nature.
